Dual Fuel Training

Level 2 Diploma In Smart Metering (Dual Fuel)

This diploma is accredited by LCL Awards – it allows new entrants to join the utilities industry to become a fully competent Smart Metering installer.

Qualification Title –  LCL Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering – 601/5845/1 (Dual Fuel)

You will study 10 units ranging from working safely in the Energy and Utilities Sector to changing and installing Single Phase Meters and associated equipment.

How will I be assessed?

  • Observed performance in the workplace and using realistic simulation within our approved assessment centre.
  • Written examination consisting of short answer responses and multiple choice.

Entry Requirements – There are no entry requirements for this course and any specialised tooling will be provided within centre.

Electrical Training

Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering (Power)

This diploma is accredited by LCL Awards – it enables new entrants or existing engineers in the metering industry to up skill to a Level 2 Smart Metering Diploma in Power recognised throughout the utilities industry.

Qualification Title – LCL Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering – 601/5844/X (Power)

You will study 7 units from how to deliver customer service when working within the Energy and Utilities Sector to installing and commissioning communication systems for Smart Meters.

How will I be assessed?

  • Observed performance in the workplace and using realistic simulation within our approved assessment centre.
  • Written examination consisting of short answer responses and multiple choice.

Entry Requirements – There are no entry requirements for this course, we will supply tooling and grant access to supervised workplace experience.

Gas Training

Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering (Gas)

This diploma is accredited by LCL Awards – it enables you to conduct smart metering exchanges in the gas utilities sector.

Qualification Title – LCL Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering 601/5837/2 (Gas)

You will study 8 units from working practices in the Energy and Utilities Sector to applying practices and principles for installing Low Pressure Natural Gas Smart Meters.

How will I be assessed?

  • Observed performance in the workplace and using realistic simulation within our approved training centre.
  • Written examination consisting of short answer responses and multiple choice.
